About the lesson

Session 1 — Introduction & Interface Basics

Workspace overview, panels, tools, document setup, file types, and basic navigation/zoom/hand tool.

Session 2 — Layers Fundamentals

Understanding layers, layer hierarchy, visibility, opacity, blending basics, and non-destructive thinking.

Session 3 — Selection Tools I

Marquee, Lasso, Quick Selection, Magic Wand. Basics of selecting and isolating parts of an image.

Session 4 — Selection Tools II (Refinement)

Select & Mask workspace, edge refinement, hair selection, and improving cutouts.

Session 5 — Move, Transform & Free Transform

Moving elements, scaling, rotating, distort, perspective transform, and smart objects introduction.

Session 6 — Cropping & Composition

Crop tool, straightening images, composition rules (rule of thirds, balance), and framing techniques.

Session 7 — Brushes & Painting Basics

Brush tool, brush settings, hardness/flow/opacity, custom brushes, and simple digital painting.

Session 8 — Retouching Basics

Spot healing, healing brush, clone stamp, content-aware fill. Cleaning skin, objects, and imperfections.

Session 9 — Adjustment Layers I

Brightness/contrast, levels, curves, exposure. Understanding tonal correction non-destructively.

Session 10 — Adjustment Layers II (Color)

Hue/saturation, color balance, selective color, vibrance, and basic color grading.

Session 11 — Masking Fundamentals

Layer masks, gradient masks, brush-based masking, and combining multiple images cleanly.

Session 12 — Typography Basics

Text tool, character/paragraph panels, font pairing, hierarchy, and simple poster layout.

Session 13 — Smart Objects & Filters

Smart objects, non-destructive filters, filter gallery, and reusable effects workflow.

Session 14 — Compositing Techniques

Blending multiple images, matching light and perspective, shadows, and realism in composites.

Session 15 — Advanced Retouching & Effects

Frequency separation intro (light), dodge & burn basics, glow effects, and advanced blending modes.

Session 16 — Final Project (Creative Composite or Poster)

Students create a complete project: poster, social media ad, or surreal composite using layers, masks, adjustments, typography, and effects.
