About Cleary

Cleary is a professional composer and sound designer working in game audio who also produces dance music and DJ’s as Kamer.

Since completing his MFA in Composing & Sound Design for Video Games, Cleary has worked as a freelancer and joined Slackjaw Studio as the audio lead.

With experience implementing audio with Wwise, making sound effects with Reaper and creating music with FL Studios, Cleary can share his experience from across the game audio ecosystem.

Private, one-to-one sessions for all ages are tailored to your needs to help you progress quickly.

One-to-one sessions can be conducted online or in person. In person sessions can be at my home studio in Brighton, or at your home (if in Brighton & Hove).

Become confident in essential music production skills like track structure, mixing, music theory fundamentals, bass sound design (Serum, Vital, Massive X), synthesisers, vocal mixing & recording, referencing, mastering (basic), gain staging, recording instruments, chopping breaks, creating drum beats and more.

Understand how to use effects like reverb, delay, distortion, saturation, EQ and compression precisely to help your music stand out alongside professional tracks.

Learn how to approach DJ’s to give your music the best chance of being played around the world in clubs and on radio stations.

Get access to a curated starter music sample pack with 1000’s of sounds from drum breaks to nature field recordings, plus learn where to find the best free music plug-ins out there.

Videogame Audio:

Learn to record and sculpt exciting sound effects in Reaper that are designed to be used in videogames.

Become confident in essential skills like recording Foley, using Reaper, synthesising sounds, speech editing, field recording, asset management, stylising sound, mixing, editing to picture, creating ambiences, using sound libraries, looping assets and much more.

As well as create sounds, discover how to get involved with the global audio community and start promoting yourself as a freelancer.

You’ll also get access to free sound effect libraries with 10000+ assets to start your sound effect collection.

Excellent! Dear Superprof.

I'm putting 'good' because I'm being honest and this was the first time I've met him, going to have to meet him a few more times before I can say anything else!

He was nice, a bit diffident but I encouraged him to criticise - I consider constructive criticism to be the engine of improvement - and he gave me some very helpful critiques which I've carried out in the version of the piece I'm submitting to him.

If he can help me turn the overall effort from aural toothache into something you'd tell your friends to listen to, I'll probably up the rating!
