About Ashley
Hi! I’m Ashley, a bilingual Chinese Canadian, native Mandarin speaker, and medical student. Growing up in both Chinese and Canadian cultures has given me a strong understanding of both languages and cultures, allowing me to create engaging, personalized lessons that help students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin.

Lessons are personalized for children, teens, and adults of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Drawing from both Chinese and Canadian cultures, I focus on practical communication while building strong speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar skills. I also stay up to date with modern Mandarin through Chinese media and social media, helping students learn natural, everyday expressions alongside standard Mandarin. A typical lesson includes conversation practice, new vocabulary and grammar, interactive exercises, and personalized feedback in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
The complimentary 30-minute introductory lesson is offered online only. I offer online lessons year-round and in-person lessons in Edmonton during the summer months.
