About Abdirahman

As someone who has journeyed through the education system, successfully completing GCSEs, A levels and an Undergraduate degree, I am able to understand and recognise the specific needs of learners going through these different educational stages. In addition, being a fully qualified ESL teacher with a CELTA qualification means that my competencies extend to also teaching English to students whose first language is not English. My teaching approach is geared towards the learner I am interacting with. I'm a believer that learning is a lot more than transmitting information. That is why I hope to provide lessons which not only enable students to learn the necessary theoretical knowledge of the subject area but also developing various soft skills to be used in real life environments.

About the lesson

Student engagement in any subject can often experience rises and falls. As a result, I aim to base my lessons on a student centred approach, encouraging students to work together to find solutions to problems in an engaging and productive fashion. My lessons cater for students aged as young as 5, to students preparing for GCSE/A level exams and adults learning English as a second language. The typical length of a single lesson would be 45 minutes to an hour.
