About Ross
When I’m not deep in science, you will probably find me outdoors or under the hood of a car. I love snowboarding, skydiving, and rebuilding cars just because it’s fun to understand how things work, whether they’re cells or carburetors.

My tutoring approach is grounded in clarity, confidence-building, and real scientific reasoning. I first identify what the student already understands and where the conceptual gaps are, then I use simplified explanations, visual frameworks, and real-world examples to make the material intuitive rather than memorized.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on current challenges, followed by a structured walkthrough of key concepts, guided problem-solving, and a short review to ensure the student can explain the idea back in their own words. I also provide custom study strategies and follow-up practice tailored to their learning style.
What sets me apart is that I’m a PhD-trained immunologist from Johns Hopkins with real industry leadership experience. I help students learn how to think like scientists: question, connect, and derive meaning.
My lessons are ideal for high school honors/AP biology students, undergraduate life science majors, pre-med students, and graduate students who need clarity in immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, or molecular biology. I also work with early-career researchers in biotech who want to strengthen experimental reasoning and scientific communication.
