About Oliva

I am a qualified physiotherapist currently working in the Pediatric Ward at Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, India. My clinical training has given me a strong foundation in child development, communication, and patience — all of which directly inform how I teach.

Alongside my healthcare work, I have two years of informal English teaching experience with young learners. Working with children every day in a professional setting means I understand how they process new information, how to hold their attention, and how to make them feel genuinely at ease in an unfamiliar situation.

I am a fluent English speaker with a clear focus on pronunciation, spoken vocabulary, and conversational confidence. My lessons are calm, structured, and always adapted to the individual child's pace and comfort level.
Parents can expect consistent, reliable sessions where their child is treated with the same care and attentiveness I bring to my clinical work. I take punctuality, preparation, and clear communication seriously — before, during, and after each lesson.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for children aged 5–8 who are complete beginners or early-stage English learners, including shy children who need extra encouragement to speak.

A typical session starts with a warm-up — a short story, a picture, or a simple question — to get the child talking without pressure. From there, we move into vocabulary or pronunciation practice woven into a game or conversation, so it never feels like drilling. I close each class by revisiting what we covered in a natural way, so the child leaves remembering something concrete.

What shapes my approach is my background as a pediatric physiotherapist. I work with children daily in a clinical setting, which means I know how to read a child's comfort level, adjust pace in real time, and build trust quickly. That carries directly into lessons — I don't push, I don't rush, and I make sure the child feels safe making mistakes.

Sessions focus on spoken English: pronunciation, everyday vocabulary, and simple conversation. No writing-heavy exercises — just real speaking practice that builds confidence gradually.

My standard rate is $10 per hour. I offer only virtual sessions.

Payment is accepted via PayPal (concealed information) and is requested prior to the start of each session. I strive to be flexible and accommodating with scheduling and am happy to work with students to find a plan that fits their needs.
