About Jacobo

My name is JACOB BWIRE, and I am a native Swahili speaker born and raised in Tanzania.

I have been living in Tanzania for 22 years and I am passionate about helping foreigners truly connect with Tanzanian people through language.

Why learn with me?

I am 100% native, I know both Kiswahili Sanifu and the real street Swahili (lugha ya mtaani) that we use every day.
I am patient and friendly. I understand that learning a new language is hard. I will make you feel comfortable and confident.
I have experience teaching expats living in Mikocheni, Zanzibar, Arusha and Oysterbay.

I speak Swahili (native) and English (fluent), so I can explain everything clearly in English when you need help.

When I am not teaching, I love football, exploring new restaurants in Dar and Zanzibar, and meeting new people.

About the lesson

My teaching method:

I use 80% conversation and 20% grammar. We will start speaking from our first lesson. I use role-plays, games, and real-life dialogues - no boring memorization.

I create a custom plan for YOU. Whether you are a complete beginner, an expat living in Masaki, or you want to talk to your Tanzanian partner's family - I will adapt.
