About Maryam
Hi there, I’m Maryam! I’m a French and Arabic student at Oxford.
I homeschooled, sitting my GCSEs and A-levels by age 13. Having taught myself many of the exams I sat, I have a lot to contribute to the field of teaching. For many subjects I would have an hour or two of tuition/week so I know how to maximise limited tuition time to get the most out of it.
After those exams I worked as a digital marketer, where I learnt how to manage a sales team and gained a ton of experience. I was encouraged by my family to go down the business route but with a growing interest in language and philosophy, I rebelled by sitting more A-levels (French A*, Arabic A*, Maths A*).
I want to go into academia and become a teacher because I love the subjects I am doing. I also love working with kids, and, being the eldest of three siblings, it comes naturally to me!

Hi there, I’m Maryam! I’m a French and Arabic student at Oxford.
- A* in Arabic A-level, Highest Score in Asia, self taught
- Studying Arabic at University of Oxford
I homeschooled, sitting 5 GCSEs and 3 A-levels by age 13. I had a bit of help from my parents when I was younger, but for my last three A-levels (Maths A*, French A*, Arabic A*) which I sat when I was 17-18, I self-taught entirely, sometimes with a couple of hours tuition per week. I would often mark my own papers myself, read examiner notes, and had to read through the syllabus booklets to understand what I needed to teach myself.
This gives me the advantage of knowing how to understand the exam system, take advantage of past-papers and maximise a limited amount of tutoring time per week so that it actually helps. I work with the student to understand where they’re at and apply what I did with myself to them.
Looking forward to hearing from you :D
