About Érika
The best feeling when talking to a foreigner, whether native speaker or not, is when he’s not able to identify your accent and is amazed to find that you’re Brazilian. During my English-language immersion trips, only a few ventured that I wasn’t a native right away, and that made me want to find out what is the so-called “Brazilian accent” that I didn’t have and why it’s so easily recognized. After a while of observation, I discovered which mispronunciations that give us away and how the use of phrasal verbs makes our speech sound much more natural. Based on this, I was able to develop a methodology for leveraging conversation and understanding in the English language.
