About Jonathan
Hello! I’m Jonathan, and I'm currently a law student looking to break into commercial law. I completed the IB diploma as the highest scorer in my cohort. I studied Economics, History of Europe and English at higher level and Chinese, Physics and Maths AA at standard level. Studying economics was particularly fascinating as I could analyse policies and their real-world impact, understanding how decisions affect businesses, governments, and people. Now, I want to help you explore Economics the same way: not just memorising theories, but seeing how they shape the world. My goal is to make the subject engaging and relatable, whether we’re debating trade policies or breaking down market trends. Together, we’ll build your confidence and curiosity, turning complex ideas into clear, exciting lessons. Let’s make Economics as rewarding for you as it was for me!

With a background in tutoring and a passion for teaching Economics at the IB or GCSE level, my approach is student-centred and adaptable. I tailor each 60-minute lesson to the individual, incorporating their interests and real-world examples to make complex concepts engaging. For instance, I might use video games to explain supply and demand or sports statistics to illustrate economic growth. My methodology blends structured content with interactive discussions, problem-solving exercises, and multimedia resources to reinforce understanding. I prioritise clarity, breaking down difficult topics into digestible parts while encouraging critical thinking. My past tutoring experience has honed my ability to assess learning styles and adjust my explanations—whether through analogies, diagrams, or case studies—to ensure comprehension. I specialise in teaching high school students (ages 14–18) preparing for IB or GCSE Economics, focusing on exam techniques, essay writing, and data analysis. My goal is to build confidence and curiosity, connecting theory to practical scenarios so students grasp not just the "how" but the "why" behind economic principles.
