About Zaynab

Hello! My name is Zaynab, and I am set to study Law at the London School of Economics this coming term. During my A-Levels, I studied History, Psychology, and Sociology, which have given me a broad and nuanced perspective on various subjects.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring for two years now, working with students ranging from 5 years old to GCSE level. Additionally, I have spent two years teaching at an Islamic institute, which has provided me with further experience in working with young people. This has equipped me with the skills to effectively engage and support students in their learning journey.

My teaching approach centres on building a strong rapport with my students, ensuring that they feel comfortable and engaged in our sessions. I believe in making learning interactive and stimulating by encouraging students to think critically about the topics we cover. I always begin with a mini introduction to assess the student’s current level, understanding their study habits, and identifying areas where they need help. This is followed by some initial teaching to gauge their grasp of the content.

Throughout our sessions, I emphasise the importance of asking questions and stretching their thinking. I believe that fostering an inquisitive mindset is crucial for deep learning, and my goal is to empower students to formulate their own arguments and opinions on the subject matter. By making sessions interactive and discussion-based, I ensure that learning is dynamic and engaging.

I tailor each session to the individual needs of the student, making notes and setting homework based on areas that require further reinforcement. My passion for the subjects I tutor shines through in my teaching, and I strive to make each topic as interesting and lively as possible. I believe that through this approach, students understand the material better but it also builds their confidence and independence in their studies.
