About Shriya

I am a second-year law student at the University of Pittsburgh and am currently interning at my local DA's office. At Syracuse University, I majored in Political Science and minored in Global Security Studies, on a pre-law track. I am also an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence Scholar.

Aside from my career goals; I enjoy community service, watching documentaries and debates, crocheting, and weightlifting.

About the lesson

I have over four years of tutoring experience and tailor my lesson plans according to the needs of my students. I am a former SAT English and essay writing tutor at My Exams Prep, Success Saturdays Tutoring Coordinator at Syracuse University Campus Connect, and former Literacy Corps tutor. I can teach all ages!

During the first lesson, I create a plan using google docs, khan academy (depending on the age) and/or other applicable tools to establish learning goals and a way to complete assignments. I research the relevant curriculum to make sure a proper standard of learning and achievement is met. I try my best to assess and understand the learning style of the student and make my classes interactive and enjoyable.

I have a deep love for learning and teaching! I find great fulfillment in my work and hope to make lasting impacts on students. I am always open to feedback and continue to learn new methods of teaching. I understand that every student learns differently and a personalized plan is how I identify which methods best serve a student's long term goals.

I make myself accessible to students outside of the tutoring session. If there is a question regarding homework or the content, students can text me at any time! I am flexible and responsive.
