Knowing how to navigate the English language is important for all areas of life. Creative writing allows for you to learn how to think outside the box (think creatively). Proper grammer allows for you to be taken seriously as an individual, because everyone likes someone they can understand. Literacy gives you the ability to read and write, which is an important life skill.
