About Mashapa
I am Mashapa, a final year law student at Varsity College, with a major in criminology. The intricate world of studying crime and criminals requires one to have a natural affinity for writing, researching and reading - all which are skills I have been perfecting since primary school.
I have always loved reading and writing to a point where by age 11, I had finished reading the collection of books by Roald Dahl at my school library, a novelist whose writing style adopted whimsical fantasy stories riddled with dark humour. His writing style heavily influenced the way I see the world and express myself through writing. His writing always taught me to engage my readers through a range of mediums such as humour, sarcasm but still providing a depth of information.

My teaching style is catered specially for every unique student because no one method can help a collective of people. There are visual learners who require imagery to soak up information, auditory learners who are appeased by sound and music, verbal learners who have a natural liking for reading and writing, as well as kinesthetic learners who learn better whilst simultaneously taking on a physically active role.
With all these learning styles in mind, I am able to narrow down what will work for a student instead of using the traditional methods of teaching at schools.
At first glance, creative writing or essay writing may seem like a tedious task because of the word counts expected from you and the types of essays that are there, but breaking down everything into small manageable parts will really help and this is the methodology that I aim to tutor my students with.
Creative writing is such an exceptional outlet in which a person can express themselves in any kind of space, be it the academic space or work environment. It is a wonderful world of literary devices, narrative craft, and character development; and it would be a pleasure to take my students in this amazing world with me.
