About Christabel
I am currently living in Wellington and have been primarily working from home over Zoom since the pandemic. I am personally interested in cooking, reading, writing, music, drag, knitting, and film. My academic interests lie in history, politics, religions, Christian martyrs, Latin, Old English, Old Norse, intersectional feminism, gender, sex, LGBTQ+ issues and history, indigenous studies, and erotic poetry.

My tutoring is tailored to each individual's needs. Each student should bring the materials they are working with as well as goals they wish to achieve. At an initial consultation of half an hour, subjects, needs, aims, and any difficulties should all be discussed then a tutoring plan will be emailed to the student. Any work set by me will be emailed at least a day in advance of a lesson so that the student may prepare. This prep will depend upon the subject. For example, if we are studying academic writing a student may be asked to write 500 words answering a question or to prepare a footnote. I have been tutoring at University level for over 15 years and have postgraduate degrees in English and Latin. I have experience tutoring Classics, writing, sociology, philosophy, English, feminism, Gender, and sexualities. Lessons are tailored to the individual so people of any age, level, and ability are all welcome.
