About Caitlin
My name is Caitlin Daries, a recent graduate of BA Language and Culture student. My passion for language and teaching inspired me to become a tutor because I believe every student deserves to feel confident in their abilities. As a continuing dedicated student majoring in English Studies, I bring both academic knowledge and genuine enthusiasm to every lesson. My studies and interactive jobs have provided me with a stronger foundation in not only my academic writing skills but my communication skills. Constantly working with peers full of diversity, different ages and personalities gave me the necessary exposure to adapting and working with different types of people.
I believe effective tutoring goes beyond explaining content—it involves building confidence, encouraging curiosity and the desire to learn. I prioritize inclusivity and questions as I truly believe in the concept of failure and growth. Professionalism, patience, and clear communication are values I pride myself in bringing to every session.

My lessons are designed to create a supportive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace, as I grew up to be a student that asked many questions:) As a third-year BA Language and Culture student majoring in Honors in English Studies, I have developed a strong understanding of English grammar, writing, literature, morphology, phonology, proofreading, creative and academic writing skills allowing me to explain challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual learner's needs and goals. Whether you need help improving grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, speaking confidence, or preparing for tests and assignments, I adapt my teaching methods to suit your learning style. I believe that every student learns differently, so I focus on building confidence alongside academic skills rather than simply memorizing content.
I am fluent in English with Afrikaans as my 2nd Language. My lessons are suitable for primary school, high school, and first-year university students who are looking to strengthen their English language skills or gain a better understanding of General Linguistics.
Students can expect well-prepared, interactive lessons where questions are encouraged, progress is celebrated, and learning is both productive and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help you achieve better marks but also to develop confidence and a genuine appreciation for the English language.
