About Aditya
About Me:
Hello! I am a Law Student and an experienced academic tutor with a passion for making Science accessible and exciting for younger students. My legal background trains me to break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps—a skill I apply directly to teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
I specialise in the UK National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 (Year 6) and Key Stage 3 (Year 7). I understand that the transition from Primary to Secondary school is a critical time for students, and my goal is to build their confidence in scientific inquiry before they face the pressures of GCSEs.
What I Teach:
Year 6 (KS2): Preparation for SATs, focusing on The Heart, Evolution, Light, and Electricity.
Year 7 (KS3): Introduction to the Scientific Method, Lab Safety, Cells & Microscopy, Particles, and Forces.
General: Homework help, exam technique, and scientific vocabulary building.
My Teaching Style:
I do not believe in rote memorisation. I use a digital pen tablet and an online whiteboard to sketch diagrams in real-time (like cell structures or electrical circuits), making the lesson visual and interactive. I encourage students to ask "Why?" and help them connect scientific theories to real-world examples.
Logistics:
Curriculum: Fully aligned with AQA/National Curriculum standards.
Tech: High-speed internet, professional microphone, and digital whiteboard.
Safety: I hold a clean Police Clearance Certificate (International DBS equivalent).

Methodology: Visual, Interactive, and Logic-Based
Science shouldn't just be memorised; it should be visualised. My classes are conducted online using professional digital whiteboard software.
Real-Time Diagrams: I use a digital pen tablet to draw cell structures, forces diagrams, and electrical circuits in real-time. The student sees exactly what I write, mimicking a physical classroom.
The "Lawyer's Approach" to Science: As a law student, I train students to construct logical answers. In Science exams, getting the right answer isn't enough—you need to use the specific "keywords" the examiner wants. I teach students how to write these answers to secure full marks.
Curriculum Coverage (National Curriculum Aligned):
For Year 6 (Key Stage 2):
Focus: Preparation for SATs and the transition to Secondary School.
Topics: Classification of Living Things, The Human Circulatory System, Light & Shadows, and Electricity.
Goal: Building a solid foundation so Year 7 feels easy.
For Year 7 (Key Stage 3):
Focus: Introduction to the Scientific Method and Lab Safety.
Topics: Cells & Organisation, Particle Model of Matter, Chemical Reactions, and Forces.
Goal: Developing scientific vocabulary and confidence in tackling complex problems.
Typical Lesson Structure (60 Minutes):
The Recap (5-10 mins): Quick-fire quiz on the previous lesson's topic to ensure retention.
The Concept (30-35 mins): Interactive teaching of the new topic using slides, diagrams, and real-life examples.
The Application (15 mins): We solve past exam questions together to apply what we learned immediately.
After the Class:
I provide a PDF copy of the whiteboard notes from the session (so the student can focus on listening, not just copying).
Optional homework is assigned to reinforce concepts.
Key elements I included to make you look pro:
"PDF copy of notes": This is a huge selling point. It means the child doesn't have to scramble to write things down, and the parent can see exactly what you taught.
"Keywords": UK exams (GCSEs/SATs) are obsessed with keywords. Mentioning this shows you know how the system works.
"The Lawyer's Approach": This turns your background (Law) into a unique feature that other Science tutors don't have.
