About Kristen
Hi!
I am a teacher, certified to teach grades K-12. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry and a Bachelor of Education degree.
During the quarantine in the Spring, I learned useful strategies for delivering online educational games to young children when I taught my kindergarten class. I am confident in my ability to teach a child to read and to develop basic number sense through online tutoring.
I also have a YouTube page, geared to grades K-2, offering at-home activities and ideas to help make at-home learning easier for everyone. Limited parental support needed!!!

Young children learn through their play. They are naturally curious and wanting to learn, but hours of flashcards can turn your child off of reading. We don't want it to feel like a chore! I offer play-based tutoring online through Google Meet and Google Classroom. Your child and I will play games, sing songs, and get our bodies moving to learn how to read.

Details
I recommend 30 minute sessions for our young learners (ages 4-7). My rate is $30 for 30 minutes. The first session is a meet and greet to discuss your goals for your child and to arrange a schedule that works for everyone. This meet and greet session is free of charge.
