About Susmita
My journey with dance began when I was just 6 years old. From a very young age, I was drawn to the rhythm, grace, and beauty of Indian classical dance. I chose Kathak as my form of expression and was fortunate to begin my training under the guidance of my Guru, Sujit Karmakar. With deep dedication and years of rigorous practice, I completed my Master’s degree in Kathak. By the age of 16, I had already embraced dance as the core of my life — not just as an art form, but as my identity and greatest passion. Dance is more than a skill for me; it is the language of my soul, and I know I will continue dancing for the rest of my life. I began teaching Kathak dance at a reputed school in the NCR region, as well as through personal home tuition. In 2010, I moved to Delhi with a dream — to spread the beauty of Kathak and share my love for this classical art with more students. Since then, I have been teaching Kathak in Delhi and creating joyful, meaningful experiences through dance.

This Kathak dance class focuses on building strong foundations in rhythm (tala), footwork (tat te thai), graceful movements, and expressive storytelling (abhinaya). Students learn traditional compositions along with posture, balance, and stage confidence. The class is suitable for beginners and intermediate learners, with personalized guidance and regular practice routines.
