About Emmett
I am a Biology Major at Harvard College where I have maintained a 3.9 GPA, tutored fellow students, and learned from some of the best professors in the world. I have taught elementary school students the past three summers, giving instruction in both English and Spanish. I am deeply passionate about Biology and Spanish, but have also tutored in Math, English, and Test Prep. It is important to me that all my students feel fully prepared for whatever academic challenge comes their way and that they leave their lessons with a deeper understanding and love for the subject.

I teach with two central goals in mind: test preparation and functional comprehension. A successful lesson should both prepare a student for success within their school's academic program as well as give them an understanding of the subject matter that will allow them to apply the skills they learn for years after. A typical lesson from me involves a broad explanation of the subject material followed by personalized Q&A and practice with sample problems. I have experience with tutoring at the high school level and teaching at the elementary school level and am the child of two high school teachers. My focus is tutoring for high school students, but am happy to discuss possible arrangements for students from other backgrounds.
