About Anna
I’m a chemical engineering student with over two years of tutoring experience at Clemson University’s Academic Success Center, where I have worked consistently with a wide range of students and courses and currently hold a leadership role as a tutor mentor. In this role, I help support and guide other tutors, which has strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles, communicate complex material clearly, and maintain a high standard of professionalism. My goal is to help students take ownership of their learning by building confidence, problem-solving skills, and independence—not dependence on a tutor. Sessions are engaging, structured, and interactive, emphasizing how to think through problems rather than memorizing steps, so students leave not only understanding the material but feeling equipped to succeed on their own.

My approach to tutoring is centered on helping students develop autonomy and take control of their own learning—I don’t just aim to help students complete an assignment, but to understand the thinking process behind it so they can succeed independently. Sessions are highly engaging and interactive, using questions, real-time problem solving, and active learning strategies rather than passive explanations. I adapt each lesson to the student’s goals, learning style, and pace, creating a supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions and building long-term academic skills.
