About John

Hi, I’m *John Ugboaja*

I’m a Mathematics teacher with *B.Ed in Mathematics Education + (concealed information) in Mathematics from NOUN*. Math has been my passion since university, and for the past 4+ years I’ve been teaching JSS, SSCE/WAEC, IGCSE, A-Level, and University 100L students.

*Why I teach Math:*
Too many students think “Math is hard” just because no one explained it right. My goal is simple: help you see Math as patterns and logic, not memorization. When algebra “clicks,” confidence follows - and grades improve.

*My background:*
I’ve taught WAEC/NECO students who moved from C6 to A1, IGCSE/A-Level students preparing for UK exams, and 100L students struggling with Calculus + Statistics. I understand the Nigerian + UK curriculum, so I know exactly what examiners want.

*Outside teaching:*
I’m patient, I listen first, then I explain. Students tell me I “make algebra simple” because I use everyday examples + step-by-step methods. No rush, no judgment - just progress.

About the lesson

*How my lessons work:*

My lessons are simple, interactive, and exam-focused. We don’t just solve questions - we understand WHY the method works. I use a digital whiteboard + share notes after each class so you can revise anytime.

*For JSS & WAEC/NECO students:*

We start from your weak areas. Algebra, Trigonometry, and Word Problems scare most students, so we break them into small steps. Every lesson = 70% practice with WAEC past questions + 30% concept. Goal: Move you from C6/D7 to A1/B3.

*For IGCSE & A-Level students:*

UK curriculum is more application-based. I focus on examiner techniques + how to present answers for full marks. We do timed past papers and review marking schemes so you stop losing “easy marks.”

*For University 100L students:*

Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra - I make the proofs and formulas practical. We connect Math to real problems in Engineering, Economics, Sciences. No more “memorize and forget.”

*My teaching style in 3 words:*

Patient. Simple. Results.

I’m a patient explainer - no question is “stupid.” I’ll repeat till it clicks. My students call me “the guy that makes algebra simple” because we use real-life examples, not just formulas.

*Lesson format:* 60 mins on Zoom/Google Meet. 1st 10mins = review homework, 40mins = new topic + practice, last 10mins = quick test + notes.
