About Pat
I am a native English speaker recently retired from a career as an educator and communications professional. I began as a middle-school ELA teacher then switched to broadcast journalism, where I received training used throughout my career. I've done corporate communications, workplace learning, college instruction and post-secondary academic tutoring. Along the way I earned a Master of Education in Instructional Design. Plain language is my best friend and it should be yours. As a journalist, I learned to tell a story in less than 45 seconds. My philosophy is that less is more. Fewer words mean less chance for readers to get lost, or misunderstand what you’re trying to say. Precise, economical language increases understanding. In short, I write tight and I can teach you to do the same.

Too many ideas? I’ll help you stay focused and how to deal with all the things..
There will be writing, practice, and feedback along the way.
For ESL students, we'll look at grammar and sentence structure as necessary.
I am committed to helping you develop skills that demonstrate both clear thinking and writing.
My tutoring and coaching is best suited for adult writers, including ESL, in post-secondary or high school.
