About Bridget
My approach to online tutoring in chemistry and biochemistry is rooted in individualized, emotionally aware, and accessible education. I believe that every student deserves a learning experience that is not only intellectually rigorous but also responsive to their unique background, needs, and circumstances. I use the flexibility of online learning to offer personalized support, adapting my teaching strategies to foster motivation and resilience. Grounded in the Universal Design for Learning and Control-Value Theory of Achievement Emotions, I design tutoring sessions that emphasize reducing barriers to learning, provide relevance and promote student agency—helping learners feel more connected to the material and in control of their progress. Whether supporting a student with foundational concepts or guiding advanced learners through complex pathways and mechanisms, I provide instruction tailored to their goals and learning styles. These interactions form the basis of a supportive relationship that promotes academic confidence, learning and persistence. Ultimately, I see online tutoring not just as academic support, but as a partnership that empowers students to learn effectively, overcome obstacles, and thrive in their studies.

I bring to each tutoring session my knowledge and training in Chemistry, Biochemistry and evidence-based teaching and learning techniques, as well as my over ten years of experience teaching a diverse range of students. I use these experiences to identify and meet students were they are and then build their understanding, knowledge and confidence so they can be successful in high school, college/university and beyond.
