About Melanie
Hello! My name is Melanie Jaramillo, and I’m a Dean’s List student at Florida Southern College studying History with a Pre-Law minor. I have experience tutoring students from kindergarten through 12th grade across different subjects, and I’ve worked with programs like Teach for America to support learners nationwide. My background in Mock Trial, student leadership, and bilingual communication in English and Spanish has taught me how to explain ideas clearly and connect with students in ways that make learning less stressful and more enjoyable. I take pride in being patient, reliable, and adaptable. Whether your child needs help building a strong foundation in elementary school, mastering high school coursework, or simply gaining confidence, I’m here to provide guidance that is both professional and encouraging. My goal is always to help students feel supported, capable, and proud of their progress.

My teaching style is all about adapting to each student’s unique way of learning, because every child understands and grows differently. I work with students from kindergarten through 12th grade, and I shape my approach to fit their needs—whether that means using visuals, step-by-step practice, open discussion, or more hands-on activities.
In a typical lesson, I like to start with a clear explanation of the topic and then move into plenty of examples to work through together. This way, students not only learn how to solve the problem in front of them, but also build the skills to apply what they’ve learned in the future. What makes me different as a tutor is the patience and care I bring to each lesson. I focus on creating an encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. My goal is to make learning engaging and personal, so every student feels supported and confident as they grow.
