I happened to chance meet Swapna while at the Miller Branch library (MD) in person and it all went from there. It was amazing to meet a local crochet artist in my area who is not only talented but also a great teacher. She is kind and patient, and very responsive. And very passionate about teaching and sharing the wonders of the craft as well! She is also a full-time working mom so, is able to share all sorts of tips and tricks to get projects done faster (and sturdier) or to maintain the hobby as a busy working adult and/or student. I’ve only had two lessons with her so far, but it has been a pleasure learning from her so far - her “tips and tricks” that you can’t get anywhere else even online, have been invaluable. Whether you are starting crochet for the first time ever or a fairly advanced beginner/intermediate, I would definitely recommend her as a teacher! I hope to see her succeed and grow further as an educator as well - she has expressed much interest in teaching more regularly and classes too (if that lessens the time or financial pressures for those who want to learn) to make crochet more accessible to all!

My daughter took crochet lessons from Swapna. Swapna is a very good teacher. For each step she told how to do the stitch and how to hold the needle. If you ever need help she will help you and she explains things very clearly. She is very patient and works well with kids.
