About Sophie

Hi! My name is Sophie, and I am a UC Irvine Campuswide Honors student majoring in Public Health Sciences and Bioengineering on the pre-med track. I graduated with a 4.81 GPA and ranked in the top 2% of my graduating class while completing rigorous IB and AP coursework with high exam scores.

As both a high-achieving student and tutor, I understand how demanding advanced classes can feel, and I enjoy helping students build confidence while improving academically. I specialize in mathematics through Calculus BC, science courses, psychology, history, and advanced English. My goal is not only to help students earn higher grades, but also to help them develop strong study habits, critical thinking skills, and long-term academic confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.

About the lesson

I believe the best learning happens when students truly understand concepts instead of memorizing information. As a recent IB and AP graduate with high exam scores, a 4.81 GPA, and a top 2% class ranking, I understand the challenges students face in rigorous courses and how to succeed in them efficiently. I am also a UC Irvine Campuswide Honors student majoring in Public Health Sciences and Bioengineering on the pre-med track.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s goals, whether they need homework help, exam preparation, study organization, or deeper conceptual understanding. I teach mathematics through Calculus BC, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, history, and advanced English. During a typical lesson, I review difficult topics step-by-step, work through practice problems with the student, and teach effective strategies for exams and long-term retention.

What sets me apart is that I recently completed these advanced courses myself, so I know which methods actually help students improve grades, confidence, and test performance. My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, IB, AP, and honors students looking for supportive, organized, and motivating instruction.
