About Emer

Qualified Irish & German teacher. I hold a degree in Irish and German from the University of Limerick, followed by a Master's in Education from the University of Galway. This was done fully through the medium of Irish (Máistir Gairmiúil san Oideachas). As part of my teacher training, I taught in a Gaelcholáiste, gaining valuable experience in Irish-medium education. I now teach Irish and German full time and also work as a State Examinations Commission oral examiner. My academic background, classroom experience and examiner role allow me to provide students with practical, targeted support and a clear understanding of what is expected in oral and written assessments.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, with a particular focus on developing confidence and fluency in spoken Irish. I use practical, interactive teaching methods to improve oral communication while also supporting grammar, vocabulary and exam preparation where required. Lessons are typically 1 hour long. I have 7 years experience helping students prepare for the:
-Hibernia entry interview
-TEG B1/B2 examinations
-Junior Cycle Irish
-Leaving Certificate Irish - end exam and oral exam
