About Wendy

I have been teaching in international schools and university for 12 years to day. I have worked in countries China, Taiwan, UK and of course my home Malaysia. In my philosophy of teaching, being able to open up myself in the holistic view of any student being a human first, and then embrace what is our world, whether it’s nature, climate or community. When I think about my role as an educator I knew that one of the main role of my job existence is to help my students to view the self as part of this world of sharing and giving. I am excited of what I might do that truly lives the philosophy that no matter what we do we are responsible not only for ourselves but also for the people around us.

I have been practicing Graphic Design for first 8 years since I graduated from my MA in Applied arts. I have been continuously practicing design and taking up design projects. Some of the clients I have worked with are Zara’s Breskha, GU, Hagen Dazz, Epson, Snoopy and many more. I knew that I need to stay in touch with the industry so that I can continuous to bring new insights for our students. Never letting go our roots that build me as an artist/ designer and merging the latest tik tok post is the way to be connected to our younger generation.

About the lesson

I choose art and design as my teaching tool to bring my students to see the bigger picture how where we are and who we are. It’s not just about creating a beautiful picture or a pretty design. It ‘s about the change we about to bring are meant to create a better world for every living being. Art’s the greatest strength is teaching us to see .

Art Class for Children 6-12years
In my art class, I will teach students accordingly to their requirement, for the little ones, it is important to build their creativity without limiting them to a type of art style, it is also the time to broaden their vision in the acceptance of what is beauty. This will teach them to be observant, patience, and knowledge first kind of attitude towards art making. In the class they will be able to explore all kinds of skills from crafts, to painting, to experimentation and drawing all sorts of imaginative dreams.

Art class for Children 12-17yrs
During this age, those who want to learn art are looking into art as a prospective to their future education or career, hence this programme will introduce students to arts and design areas that can build their understanding of commercialism, realism, art history, techniques of art and design from digital to traditional. They will able to build a strong and growing portfolio that are able for them to showcase and even apply for college.
