About Divya

Hi, I'm Divya — an Indian educator with over 14 years of international teaching experience and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
I have taught across four countries — India, UAE, Indonesia, and China — which has given me a deep understanding of how children from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds learn best. I currently teach Year 6 at Wycombe Abbey, Changzhou — one of the most prestigious British international schools in China.
My qualifications:

UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) — University of Sunderland
Certified STEM Educator — STEM.org
Master's in International Education (in progress) — University of Sunderland
Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) — University of Delhi

I specialize in Primary Science, English, and Environmental Studies across the British and Indian curricula, and have extensive experience supporting EAL learners and SEN students (Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism).
Outside the classroom, I am a boxer, a classical Indian dancer, and an avid reader — which means I bring the same discipline, creativity, and curiosity to my teaching that I bring to everything else in life.
I believe every child deserves a teacher who truly sees them. That's the kind of tutor I aim to be.

About the lesson

My classes are designed to make every child feel confident, curious, and capable — whether they're struggling to keep up or ready to leap ahead.
With 14 years of teaching across India, UAE, Indonesia, and China, I bring a truly international perspective to every session. I specialize in the British (UK National) and Indian (CBSE/ICSE) curricula for Primary learners, and tailor every lesson to your child's unique learning style and pace.
What a session with me looks like:

We start by identifying exactly where your child is and what they need most
Lessons are hands-on, visual, and interactive — no boring worksheets
I use proven strategies like Talk for Writing, inquiry-based learning, and interactive notebooks
Every session ends with a clear recap and a tip for parents on how to reinforce learning at home

I especially work well with:

EAL learners (children whose first language isn't English)
SEN students — Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism — using inclusive, structured strategies
Students preparing for school transitions or assessments
NRI and expat families navigating between Indian and British curricula

I hold a UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Certified STEM Educator credential, and am completing my Master's in International Education at the University of Sunderland. I currently teach Year 6 at Wycombe Abbey, one of the most prestigious British schools in China.
My goal is simple — by the end of our sessions, your child shouldn't just know the answers. They should love learning.
