About Joseph
Welcome! My name is Joseph, and I’m a professional jazz and classical guitarist with over 15 years of international performance and teaching experience. Having toured extensively across the United States and Europe, I bring not only deep technical knowledge but also a real-world understanding of what it takes to grow as a confident, expressive musician. My goal as a tutor is simple: to help you play the guitar with clarity, confidence, and purpose—whether you're just starting out or preparing for conservatory auditions or live performances. As an educator, I’m known for being patient, clear, and highly adaptable. I take pride in creating a structured yet flexible learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and constantly inspired. Every lesson is tailored to your unique strengths, goals, and musical interests. When you study with me, you’re learning from someone who’s lived the craft—from backstage to the concert stage—and who is genuinely invested in your success. With a strong foundation in both classical tradition and modern improvisation, I’m here to guide you with professionalism, passion, and a deep respect for the music we make together. Let’s build something exceptional—one note at a time.

As a seasoned jazz and classical guitarist with over 15 years of international touring and teaching experience, Joseph brings a rich, real-world perspective to every lesson. His approach is centered on musical understanding, creativity, and personal growth—not just technical drills.
Teaching Method & Techniques
Joseph teaches with a blend of traditional music pedagogy and modern, performance-based methods. He believes that mastering technique should serve musical expression—not the other way around.
His methods include:
Socratic-style teaching to encourage deep understanding through guided discovery
Visualization and ear training for developing strong fretboard awareness and musical memory
Structured improvisation exercises (for jazz students) to unlock creativity and confidence
Fingerstyle & tone development routines (for classical players) rooted in the European tradition
Repertoire-based learning, ensuring that every concept is applied through actual music
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, experience level, and learning style.
️ A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-up & Review – Brief exercises to reinforce technique and review past material
Focus Topic – One main concept per lesson (e.g., II-V-I jazz phrasing, or phrasing in Bach’s Lute Suites)
Application – Working through a piece, solo, or improvisation based on the topic
Feedback & Goal Setting – Clear takeaways, corrections, and next steps
Bonus Resources – Practice sheets, backing tracks, or custom video recaps (for private students)
What Sets Joseph Apart
Dual mastery of jazz and classical guitar—rare and valuable for cross-style students
Real-world experience from touring in the USA and Europe
A passion for teaching that matches his passion for performing
Custom materials & exercises written specifically for each student
Deep musical empathy, guiding students not just to play the notes—but to tell a story
Joseph doesn’t just teach guitar—he helps students become musicians.
