About Jennifer
My name is Jennifer and I am currently a student at Ravenswood School for Girls pursuing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. I am passionate about English language and literature and have consistently excelled in my studies. I believe that a strong foundation in English, particularly writing and communication, is crucial for success in both academic and everyday life. I have also achieved consistent 6s and 7s in all my academic subjects, including Mathematics, Chemistry, Business Management, Economics and Chinese. I also have professional qualifications in public speaking and communications, having achieved my speech diploma issued by the Australian Speech and Communications Association. I have also competed at a national and international level thus I can confidently communicate and find different ways of explaining concepts during lessons. As a bilingual IB student, I have first-hand experience in the struggles of effective critical thinking, reading and writing skills that are honed through a strong grasp of English, especially for ESL students. I aim to make learning English an enjoyable and rewarding experience for my students.

As an IB student with a strong academic background in English, my approach to tutoring is friendly, engaging, and student-centered. I aim to make each lesson enjoyable and tailored to the individual needs of the student. I focus on building confidence and foundational skills through sharing my own experience, questions, regular revision, and clear communication. Lesson times are flexible upon reaching out. I will follow the curriculum requirements when teaching or any particular aspects that you request. I have experience helping primary-aged children (ages 6-12) with reading, writing, grammar, and homework support, as well as years 7-9 students with their academic subjects and advised on peer mentoring/tutoring programs and I’m passionate about creating a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing a love for learning. I'm looking to take years K-8 students.
