About Mathilde
I am a recent IB and high school graduate from an International school in Switzerland, about to embark on my university path here in Auckland.
The reason why I want to tutor is that I struggled a lot with asking for help when I was at school, which influenced my grades until I finally mustered the courage to do so and had a great experience with several tutors, which not only improved my grades but made learning much more enjoyable.
As a woman, I also understand that girls are less encouraged to pursue school as seriously as boys, and I am here to change that narrative by inspiring confidence in both genders to reach for the stars.

My approach includes:
a) seeing what the pupil already knows
b) creating a schedule and model based on that original knowledge and the desired outcome ( for example, an A on their English paper)
c) setting a clear goal with steps on how we are going to achieve it.
I believe that learning is best done in small intense intervals for test studying (ie, three 20-minute focused sessions with a 5-minute "review break" in between). However, for literature classes, I prefer having two 30-minute sessions with another 5-minute break in between as it is usually a lengthier material to teach.
My lessons are dedicated to most lower school grades, as I have spent a lot of time with young children (babysitting, family relations, etc...) and feel as if that is my strong suit.
