About Rasika

Hi! I’m a friendly and patient math tutor who loves helping students understand why math works, not just how to get the answer. I know math can feel confusing or overwhelming at times, so my goal is to make lessons feel supportive, clear, and confidence-boosting.

I want to teach because I’ve seen how much of a difference the right explanation and encouragement can make. When students start believing in themselves and realize they can do math, everything changes — that’s the part I enjoy most. I genuinely care about helping students improve, feel proud of their progress, and approach math with less stress and more confidence.

I aim to create a positive learning environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are part of learning. Whether you need help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I aim to make maths feel approachable by breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and adjusting my explanations to suit each student’s learning style.

I use a mix of guided practice, worked examples, questioning, and independent problem-solving to check understanding and reinforce concepts. I encourage students to explain their thinking so I can identify gaps and misconceptions early. Lessons are structured but flexible, allowing time to revisit difficult topics or extend students who are ready for more challenge.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, though sessions can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and concentration level. Each lesson usually includes a brief review, focused teaching, practice questions, and a short recap to consolidate learning.

I have experience tutoring primary and lower secondary students in mathematics, including working as a tutor at Kumon and providing private home tutoring. Through this experience, I’ve developed strong skills in explaining concepts clearly, maintaining engagement, and supporting students at different ability levels.

My lessons are suitable for primary school students and high school students up to Year 10. I work well with students who need extra support, want to strengthen foundational skills, or are aiming to build confidence and improve their performance in maths.
