About Valeria
I am an engineering student at CUNY. I earned an Associate degree in Computer Information Systems in Spring 2025 with a GPA of 4.0, and I have experience tutoring mathematics from elementary to college level.
Mathematics is my favorite subject, followed by physics and programming. My mission is to change your mind about anything you thought you knew about math, so that you can start to notice the mistakes that many teachers make throughout their lectures.
You need to know that math is the fabric of reality, the rules of nature, and the key to understanding our universe. Math is embedded in everything, including yourself. It is part of you, and when you master it you will feel amazing, because you will have unlocked something that is a fundamental part of your being.
Trust the process. We will get there.

I strongly believe that the reason many people consider math a difficult subject is because of how it has been taught to them. While some concepts are more difficult to grasp than others, explanations often become overly complicated when a teacher does not truly understand the subject. Mathematics is logic, and one must completely master it to make the logical connections required to teach it. You might not believe me, but math is a game that can actually be fun, and I'm here to introduce you to the rules of this game.
My teaching technique is based on making sure that students understand the basics before moving forward. Think of math as a building. If your foundations are strong, so will be everything you build upon them. While I am not a skilled artist, I use many drawings and create visual maps to aid your understanding.
Learning math does not have to be hard or scary, and no, you do not need to painfully practice for hundreds of hours each week. What you really need is understanding, and practice will only settle it. There is no benefit in doing one thousand problems wrong. You just need to get one right on your own and see how you got there, so you can master the remaining nine hundred ninety nine.

I know this person through working closely with them and having the chance to observe their teaching style over time. They are a patient, organized, and attentive Superprof who explains even complex topics clearly and adapts to each student's needs. I recommend her because she's knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely dedicated to her students' success.
Valeria approaches mathematics with real care and a strong desire to understand how things work. She values reasoning over shortcuts and works with great attention to detail. When she explains a concept, she does it step by step and naturally adjusts when she notices confusion, often using real-life examples to make difficult topics easier to follow. She creates a fun and supportive environment, especially for students who feel anxious about math, helping them gain confidence and clarity rather than just memorizing procedures.
