About Kate
I am a patient and kind teacher with a passion for encouraging students to really understand their topics/ subjects rather than memorize and learn. This in my opinion is key to success in highschool/ university and a solid foundation is so important to this.
I am also very approachable and encourage all questions and engagement. I can adjust my teaching methods to the student based on how they learn best and also their standard. I have a lot of younger siblings/ cousins who I spent years giving lessons in maths and science and this really allowed me to develop great communication and teaching skills especially in these topics.

-I am a kind and patient teacher who emphasises understanding over memorizing.
-Lessons are aimed at students in Highschool or first/ second year of life sciences Bachelors degrees.
-Lesson plan: In general I begin with finding out what exactly my student is struggling with (ideally via short Q&A by student before lesson). I then put together a lesson plan to explain first the concept as simply as possible to the student using lots of visual aids and diagrams. I encourage students to interact and ask questions when they do not understand as this is key to learning and I can adjust my teaching according to this. I always prepare example questions which we first do together and then one which the student will complete alone to assess progress. I ask the student to complete this for the next lesson so we can discuss the answers then and recap.
