About Mohit
My name is Dr Mohit Kumar, and I am offering my services as an Indian Classical Music vocalist, specializing in the Northern Indian (Hindustani Khayal tradition). I have learnt since I was a child, and have studied formally for 5+ under the guidance of various Indian Classical Music teachers. I am happy to give you the contact of my current teacher if you would like to learn under him (as he has over 50+ years of experience).
I am doing this to foster interest in Indian Classical Music and to hopefully share my passion with others.

Hello all,
I offer lessons to participants of all ages and all levels. Lessons will cover the following topics:
1) Basic Hindustani Khayal music theory including theory of swar (notes), naad (sound) and gayaki (singing style).
2) Indian Ragas ranging from beginners to advanced.
3) Learning specific traditional Khayals based upon ragas (as taught to me by my Guru)
4) Knowledge of taal (rhythm) to allow vocal accompaniment with tabla
I am proficient in both English and Hindi.
