About Emily
I’m an incoming medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine and a Pomona College graduate with a degree in Neuroscience, where I finished cum laude with a 3.96 GPA. Over the past several years I’ve tutored middle school, high school, and college students in STEM subjects, test prep, and academic skills, and I’ve also served as a Teaching Assistant for neuroscience, genetics, and organic chemistry courses. Beyond the classroom, I’ve conducted neuroscience research and co-authored peer-reviewed publications, which helps me connect what we cover in lessons to real scientific questions and careers. I have extensive experience working with high-achieving students as well as those who feel intimidated by “hard” science and math, including learners with ADHD, anxiety, or executive function challenges. As a former college athlete and future physician, I bring a calm, organized, and encouraging presence to sessions and take your goals seriously—whether that’s passing a tough class, aiming for a top score, or building long-term confidence in STEM.

In our first lesson, I start by asking about your goals, classes, and past testing experience, then we work through a few sample problems together so I can see how you think. From there, I design a clear weekly plan that blends content review, guided practice, and timed drills. I focus on teaching you how to approach questions, not just giving you answers, and I build in study strategies, test-taking techniques, and executive function support. My lessons are especially well suited for high school, college, and pre-med students who want structured, encouraging coaching through challenging STEM courses, standardized tests, or the admissions process.
