About Stuti

I am an incoming college freshman at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. I went to the specialized high school, Brooklyn Technical High School through the SHSAT and have been balancing numerous extracurricular while maintaining constant involvement in school, internships, rigorous classes (10 AP courses taken throughout high school), and college prep. I have had over 5 years of tutoring experience, work very well with kids, and enjoy every bit of it! I have done tutoring mainly through volunteering, and have recently worked at a tutoring center. My students have shown immense improvement in their tutored subjects (usually math), and are eager to learn with me. I would love to be of help and contribute to the growth of a student's learning journey!

About the lesson

I have been teaching dance since the age of 11. Working with little kids since I was basically a kid myself! I am extremely patient and have fun working with kids, being able to translate the learning experience into something enjoyable for them too. By using analogies, metaphors, or any references to things they like, it makes it much easier for them to learn and more fun too! In terms of academic tutoring, I have been tutoring since 7th grade, and similarly, always break down the material to reflect the comprehension ability of my student. I am always encouraging and constantly motivate my students in case they are having a tough time or make mistakes. I encourage them to make mistakes and to learn from them, and am always open to re-explain any problem however many times they need. My typical lesson plan depends on the student I am teaching. If they need math homework help, first I will do some example problems to show them how it is done, and explaining the concept behind it thoroughly. I would typically do this by underlining the aspects of the question on a digital whiteboard, and then solving it out step by step. I would ask if my student has any questions and then answer them, and proceed to ask them if they can do one by themselves. If they need help, I will help them, and use this approach until they can do a problem fully by themselves. After each question, we will go over it together and answer any other clarifications.
