About Zaid

I’m an incoming first-year Mathematics student at the University of Warwick, having recently completed my A-levels with A*s in Mathematics (291/300) and Further Mathematics (258/300), alongside As in Physics and Economics. I’m particularly passionate about helping students build confidence in Maths and develop a deeper understanding of the subject, rather than simply memorising methods. Having only recently completed the same courses myself, I have a strong understanding of the current A-level and GCSE content and the skills needed to perform well in exams. I’m happy to work with students of all abilities, from those looking to strengthen their fundamentals to those aiming for the highest grades.

About the lesson

Lessons are tailored to each student depending on their goals, current level and areas they find difficult. I’ll typically start by identifying any gaps in understanding before working through concepts together and then applying them to increasingly challenging problems. I put a strong emphasis on getting students to understand why a method works, as well as being able to use it confidently in an exam. For students preparing for exams, we can also focus on exam technique, past-paper questions and tackling unfamiliar problems. Lessons can be adapted to whatever the student needs most, whether that's help with a particular topic, regular support alongside schoolwork, or preparation for GCSE/A-level exams.
