About Ramon

After 15 years of experience competing at all levels, my approach as a tennis coach has been forged through a deep understanding of the game, both technically and tactically. Throughout my career, I have learned to recognize each player's individual needs and tailor training to maximize their potential. My experience in local, regional, and international tournaments has allowed me not only to improve my own game but also to gain a broad perspective on sports psychology, physical conditioning, and strategies for managing pressure on the court. Today, as a coach, I focus on passing on these lessons to my students, guiding them to develop not only their skills but also their competitive mindset, always with the goal of enjoying and growing in every training session.

An effective training method for private tennis lessons must be personalized and adapted to the specific needs of the student. The following is an approach that combines theory and practice to improve the performance of players, from beginners to more advanced levels. 1. Initial Assessment: The first step in any training program should be a comprehensive assessment of the player. This includes evaluating their technical, tactical, physical, and mental level. Tests of basic strokes (such as the serve, backhand, and forehand) can be conducted to determine their skill level, as well as assessing their physical condition (stamina, strength, agility) and their understanding of the game. Additionally, observation sessions during matches can be conducted to see how they handle pressure situations. 2. Technical Focus: Technical training should focus on improving the basic strokes: serve, forehand, backhand, volley, and smash. Each lesson should have a specific focus, where the instructor works on technical details such as hand position, body posture, balance, and timing. The correction of mechanical errors should be constant and detailed, but without overloading the player with too many changes at once. It is important to use repetition to assimilate these concepts. 3. Tactical Training: In this aspect, the coach must teach the player to read and adapt to match situations. Training sessions may include exercises designed to improve decision-making in real game situations. Work is done on aspects such as shot placement, the use of angles, speed variation, and the importance of maintaining court positioning. Simulations of points and games are also included, where the player must apply what they have learned in a more dynamic environment. 4. Physical Conditioning: Physical conditioning is key for tennis, as it requires a combination of endurance, speed, agility, and strength. Physical training should complement technical and tactical training. Exercises such as sprints, jumps, quick changes of direction, and strength work focused on the core and legs are fundamental. It is also important to work on flexibility and injury prevention through stretching and mobility exercises. 5. Mindset and Sports Psychology: The mental aspect of tennis cannot be underestimated. The coach must help the player develop resilience, concentration, and pressure management skills. Through visualization exercises, breathing techniques, and strategies for staying focused, the player can improve their performance under pressure. Furthermore, self-confidence should be developed, helping the player accept mistakes and learn from them to improve. 6. Planning and Monitoring: Training should follow a structured plan with short-, medium-, and long-term goals. It is essential to constantly monitor progress and make adjustments to the training plan when necessary. This may include changes in the intensity of exercises, variations in the types of practice, or a focus on specific aspects of the game that need improvement. In addition, achievements and progress should be celebrated to maintain high motivation. A training method for private tennis lessons should be personalized and balanced, focusing on the player's technique, tactics, physical conditioning, and mental strength. By maintaining open communication between the coach and the player, an environment can be created in which continuous improvements can be achieved, helping the student to advance in their skill and enjoy the learning process.
