About Afua
I am a 4th-year medical student taking a year out to do research at Imperial College London this year.
I love working with students and have lots of experience teaching both within medical school and beforehand.
While studying, I have been part of 4 medical societies. A huge part of these roles has included me putting on lectures/revision sessions for students looking for extra help.
I completely understand how scary and frustrating applying to medical school can be. Being in the minority of students that got an offer to study medicine on my first application, I would consider it an honour to share my top secret tips and tricks that I have learnt along the way with you!
As part of this service I offer:
Personal statement assistance and analysis
Interview preparation
UKCAT preparation
Please feel free to contact me for references or to talk to some of my former students !
So far I have a 100% success rate for getting students into medical school first time !

Over the years, I have definitely found that the three most important aspects of studying are:
1) PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE
2) Understanding
3) Repetition
Practise is particularly important when it comes to getting into medical school. I want to provide a great source to do interview preparation and not only educate you on healthcare matters but also help you build your confidence and proficiency.
I want to ensure that all of my students actually have a good understanding of the key concepts. This avoids the need to cram and just memorise. Honestly, it makes studying so much more interesting. Can never understand how or why people say ' I just love revising' ? - this is why! When you understand it, studying becomes more like a puzzle or a game.
In addition, repetition is also really important! Working little and often ensures that short term memories are converted to long term and hence stay with you for as long as you need.
