About Natasha
Hello! My name is Natasha. I am a second-year mathematics PhD student at Imperial College London, where I also received a First Class Honours in MSci Mathematics.
At school, I achieved 4A*s at A Level, an A* in my EPQ and 7 9s and 4A*s at IGCSE (4 subjects were taken before the transition to 9-1 grading!). I regularly took part in UKMT maths competitions, achieving Distinction in the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls. I also competed in the British Physics Olympiad, achieving a Top Gold in Round 1 (top 50 nationally).
Having taken GCSEs and A Levels relatively recently, I still remember the process clearly: lots of topics, endless past papers, exam nerves and having to also focus on exam technique instead of just subject content!
I am very passionate about mathematics and all of its amazing applications, and I believe that the way to learn a subject is through example and practice, in no subject is this more clear than maths! It can definitely feel intimidating, but I don’t think it has to stay that way. With the right support, everyone can become more confident.
I hope to help students reach their goals and enjoy some maths along the way! :-)

Most of my lessons are online, but I can also offer in-person tuition in West London. My lessons are 1 hour and I teach:
- GCSE/IGCSE Maths, Further Maths and Additional Maths
- A Level Maths and Further Maths
- STEP and TMUA
- olympiad-style mathematics (e.g., UKMT)
- university admissions (e.g., mock Oxbridge maths interviews) and personal statement review
I am also able to teach certain university-level topics: single and multivariable calculus, vector calculus, fluid dynamics and classical mechanics.
Lessons are interactive, inclusive and tailored to the student’s goals. We usually begin with their current course material or questions, identify what is causing difficulty, and then work through the underlying ideas before applying them to problems. I encourage students to talk through their reasoning and ask questions without worrying about getting things wrong.
I use evidence-based learning techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition. In maths, the best way to learn is by doing, so I provide plenty of worked examples and carefully chosen practice problems to reinforce each lesson. For exam preparation, we combine targeted past-paper practice with close attention to how marks are awarded. I can also help students create a realistic revision timetable and use their study time more effectively.
For the past three years, I have tutored undergraduate mathematics at Imperial, primarily through small-group tutorials. I am also a teaching assistant, tutoring at problem classes and marking assessments. I am now expanding into GCSE and A-level tuition. Teaching advanced material has made me comfortable turning abstract concepts into clear, intuitive explanations, while my own relatively recent experience of school exams helps me understand the different demands at these levels.
