About Yashvardhan
I am a scientist. I graduated from IIT Roorkee in Geophysics, and then I was working for Schlumberger, world's biggest oil and gas service provider. But I was more interested in research and education, so I am now pursuing my Phd in climate change in IIT Bombay, where I assist teaching my Prof. I also work at an NGO called LCCWA, teaching high school students physics and occassionally maths.

In the class, I like to pay individual attention to students, and constantly try to engage them through questions that make them think. I give them homework about finding examples from their own world about topics that have been covered in the class. This makes them relate to the subject instead of finding it as a chore that they have to do. I have a good background in problem-solving making it to INMO (Indian National Maths Olympiad) after clearing the regionals and cracking the JEE in my first attempt. I teach students how to approach a problem, tackle difficult ones through different tools at your disposal and tips for competetitive exams. My teaching philosophy is to provide a holistic understanding of the subject. I don't believe in compartmentalizing the topics, because as a PhD scholar, I understand that most of the work is interdisciplinary. I even give a short history of the topic in order to make students grasp the significance of the work and how the pioneering scientists broke away from the mould to further our undestanding of the subjects.
