About Adhinathan

I'm currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore — one of India's most selective research institutions, with admission requiring a high rank in JEE Mains/Advanced. This background gives me a deep, rigorous grounding in mathematics.

I have real teaching experience: I've taught Mathematics and Physics to CBSE and IB students in Classes 5-10 through an ed-tech platform, and I've also volunteered as a classroom teacher for Class 10 Mathematics through a trust at a private school. Between these two, I've taught in both online and in-person settings. I am also comfortable in teaching class 11 and 12 for CBSE, IB and competitive exams.

I take a professional, reliable approach to tutoring — I show up prepared, communicate clearly with students and parents, and I'm committed to consistency, not just individual sessions. I'm also comfortable with a first trial class, so a student or parent can judge for themselves whether I'm the right fit before committing further.

About the lesson

Each class typically runs for 60 minutes and is conducted online via video call, using a digital whiteboard or shared screen to work through problems together in real time.

A session usually starts with a quick recap of the previous topic and any doubts the student has, followed by the new concept — introduced through examples first, then formal explanation. I solve initial problems step by step out loud, explaining the reasoning behind each step, before having the student attempt similar problems on their own while I guide them through any mistakes as they happen.

Towards the end of each class, I assign a short set of practice problems to reinforce what we covered, which we review at the start of the next session. This keeps learning consistent between classes rather than starting fresh each time.

Classes are one-on-one, tailored to the individual student's pace and current level, rather than following a fixed group curriculum — so a student who needs more time on a topic gets it, and one who's ready to move faster isn't held back.
