About Sarbajit

I am a mathematics tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience across school, undergraduate, and international curricula. Over the years, I have taught students from CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IGCSE, A-Level, AP, and university programs, both in person and online.

My academic background includes studies in Physics and Materials Science, and I am currently engaged in advanced mathematical study and research at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. My mathematical interests include calculus, real analysis, differential equations, linear algebra, geometry, and higher-level university mathematics.

I have taught students from India and abroad, and I have extensive experience conducting online classes using a professional digital setup, including a pen tablet and interactive teaching tools. My goal is not only to help students solve problems and perform well in examinations, but also to develop a deep conceptual understanding of mathematics.

I believe mathematics becomes enjoyable when students understand the ideas behind the formulas. Therefore, I focus on clear explanations, logical thinking, and building confidence in problem-solving. Whether a student needs support with school mathematics, competitive examinations, or university-level topics, I strive to adapt my teaching style to their individual needs and learning pace.

Teaching mathematics has been one of the most rewarding parts of my academic journey, and I enjoy helping students discover both the power and beauty of the subject.

I also offer guidance in Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Geometry, Measure Theory, Differential Equations, and introductory PDEs.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on three stages:

1. Conceptual Understanding – Before introducing formulas or techniques, I help students understand the underlying idea through intuition, examples, diagrams, and discussions. This builds a strong foundation and reduces dependence on memorization.
2. Structured Problem Solving – Once the concept is clear, we develop systematic methods for solving problems. Students learn how to approach unfamiliar questions, identify patterns, and build mathematical confidence.
3. Mathematical Thinking – I encourage students to ask “why” a result is true, not just “how” to use it. Depending on the student’s level, I introduce elements of logical reasoning, proof techniques, and connections between different topics. This approach is especially useful for students preparing for higher studies in mathematics, engineering, physics, and related fields.

For online classes, I use a digital writing tablet and interactive teaching tools to create a classroom-like experience. Detailed notes, problem sheets, and regular feedback are provided to ensure steady progress. For offline classes, I emphasize active participation and discussion so that students develop genuine understanding rather than rote learning.
