About Chloe
I am a student who enjoys ballet and learning languages in my spare time. I have volunteered with children for the past year and have experience teaching adults English and art, and helping children with their homework.
My previous jobs have included working as a receptionist at a nursery and NHS children's centre, where I developed excellent communication skills with children and their families. I have also worked at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery as a gallery attendant, giving me an excellent background in Scottish history and customer service.
I have spent the past year volunteering at a stay and play, helping young children with language skills, arts and crafts, reading, and social skills. In addition to this I have volunteered at a community afternoon, where I have helped adults with English as a second language, and children up to GCSE with their homework. I have also volunteered teaching adults to paint and draw, both as a therapeutic tool and to develop their artistic skills. I have an A grade Fine Art GCSE and am familiar with the expectations of academic art qualifications.
I have an A grade English A level, and A* EPQ in Literature. I am now pursuing a degree at the University of Edinburgh. In my spare time I am a keen ballet dancer and artist, and would love to tutor art in addition to humanities subjects. I have a GCSE in German and Level 4 French from the University of Birmingham, equivalent to AS level.

I believe that a students confidence is hugely important when it comes to academic excellence. As such I focus on identifying a students strengths and areas for improvement, balancing recognition of their talents with working on achieving their goals.
I like to work with my students on setting a tutoring schedule, focusing on a different topic each week. However, I am flexible to the needs of the tutee and will focus on areas which require particular attention.
Overall, I believe that academic success requires frequent practise and attentive feedback, and this is how I teach my students.
