About Akeisha
I'm currently an undergraduate student at University of California, San Diego and I'm majoring in Human Biology! I love Biology, so I do know what it feels like to struggle in hard classes that I'm not familiar with, and I hope to share study habits and techniques which have helped me succeed with students. I hope to go into the medical field (maybe medical school or physician assistant school) once I graduate :)

My teaching method emphasizes truly understanding the concepts through connections to broader concepts, application through practice problems, and active recall. I first want to determine where a student is struggling to focus on that, but also make sure to encourage some independence in learning is as well.
I provide support to practice problems and concepts while explaining mistakes along the way. I end the lesson with review sheets that capture the main concepts covered, to help the student solidify their confidence on a topic.
The lessons are for middle school all the way up to high school students. I can even tutor AP classes like AP Biology, AP Literature, and AP World History, but mostly tutor math and science classes.
