About Steven

Hi, my name is Steven Lee, owner and head tutor of the Steven Lee Academy. I am a qualified and highly experienced tutor with 24 years of tutoring experience in Australia, and have built a reputation as one of Sydney's premier and most successful HSC and IB Math and Sciences tutors. I specialize in teaching Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for HSC and IB Diploma Programme, and Math and Science for Middle Years Programme as well. I also teach HSC Engineering Studies, Math and Science for primary and PYP students, and I have a very good knowledge of the VCE, QCE and WACE curricula. I have been highly successful in helping many of my students achieve marks of 90% and over, and achieving Top 5 state rankings in NSW in the HSC. WHERE YOU WILL FIND ME I am located in Sydney, however I teach all lessons online so I accept students from anywhere in NSW for high school/HSC tutoring and anywhere in the world for IB tutoring. I have also successfully taught interstate students studying for their VCE, QCE and WACE.

About the lesson

I thoroughly teach all aspects of maths and sciences personally and provide many exercises and materials to help my students gain a strong understanding and pick up the concepts very rapidly.

My classes are conducted one-on-one online via Zoom, and are delivered in a very comprehensive style. They typically involve:

- Explaining topics in detail, focusing on clarifying all key concepts;

- Teaching students how to derive related formulas by concentrating on key points with thorough analysis;

- Helping students solve problems, set out answers, and deal with long-response questions;

- Assisting students with course work, projects and experimental investigations;

- Helping students with in-depth studies, open-ended investigation, and experimental analysis;

- Thoroughly preparing students for exams, and more.

I have a vast array of resources available, including practice questions, mock exams, and past exam papers to help my students prepare thoroughly for exams and excel in their results.

My lesson structure and approach to teaching has been developed and fine-tuned over 24 years and has been proven to be both highly effective and very engaging for my students.

My mission is to achieve the best possible results for my students and allow them to reach their fullest potential, while enjoying the process along the way.

- All lessons follow the school syllabus, yet are personalised to each student's specific needs.

- Attention is given to exams preparation and strategies, and assessment tasks.

- Students are motivated and encouraged to proactively learn at their own speed.

- Regular practice and homework materials are supplied to reinforce all concepts learned in the lessons.

- Study and exam techniques are studied to help students overcome anxiety and mental block in exams.
