Having known Andrea Hall for a number of years, I am honored that she has asked me to write a letter of recommendation on her behalf. I say this because Andrea is someone I have relied upon for assistance (both professionally and personally), for listening,
for guidance and for wisdom. Because of this, I feel I can finally repay in kind with this recommendation!
Andrea and I served in Okinawa, Japan for Christian volunteer work and got to know each other quite well. In fact, after she returned to Jamaica and I to the US, we have remained friends. While in Okinawa, Andrea taught English (so she has experience in this type of work), and I was a public school teacher in the States for years. Therefore, in addition to our volunteer work, we also shared a common profession and often shared our experiences.
Ms. Hall's style is definitely "student centered". She has an excellent rapport with her students, understands their individual learning styles and creates material appropriate for their comprehension. She also has great rapport with parents, her colleagues, and her peers. She is someone who is dedicated to her career, and can be trusted to teach her students competently, creatively, and affectionately. While doing so, she will also represent her employer with professionalism and respectability. These are the factors which reflect Andrea's trustworthiness and I do not hesitate to say that she would be an asset to any institution which employs her.
On a personal not, Andrea's quick wit, sense of humor and intelligence endear her to those she meets. She is outgoing, easy to talk with, very creative and, simply put, a truly remarkable individual. She will absolutely go the extra mile to make sure her students enjoy learning, understand the material they are being taught and successful at mastering it!
Because of these attributes, I am sure the other Superprof members will also find Andrea to be a pleasure to have as a colleague.
